Australia's most successful dating show has sadly finished for the year and we don't really know what to do with ourselves. 

Farmer Wants A Wife provided us with plenty of entertainment and viewers loved watching Farmer Dean, Farmer Tom, Farmer Dustin, Farmer Joe, Farmer Todd, and Farmer Bert fall in love on-screen.

Wait, correction. We loved watching some of them fall in love on-screen, because sadly, not all of them walked away with a lifelong connection.

Farmer Dean joined the show hoping to find a love as enduring as his parents' 30-year marriage. However, in a surprising twist, he chose to cut his journey short.

The 25-year-old cattle and watermelon farmer from Queensland welcomed five women to his farm, but it was evident from the beginning that his heart belonged to Teegan. 

After professing his love for her, the couple made the bold decision to leave the show and pursue their relationship beyond the cameras.

Sadly, it didn't take long for their relationship to fizzle out, and Teegan called it quits after noticing how much time she was spending alone. 

"Coming into the experience you expect a farmer to work a lot but I think my expectations were a little bit different to what it was," she said in the reunion episode. 

"Not having Dean there a lot of the time was quite hard on myself, which I think then made our romantic relationship kind of fall apart a little bit."

Dean admits the split was a "bit of a shock" to him at first. 

"We still text each other and we still get along really well, like we're great friends out of it," he said. "There's something there that I still like about Teegan, for sure."

Farmer Bert farms pineapple, pumpkin and dragonfruit, is 30 years old and comes from Warmuran, Queensland.

Bert was no stranger to catching the eye of the ladies. After feeling a strong connection with Karli during the speed dating rounds, he believed he had found "the one."

However, a clash between Karli and April caused Bert to have doubts, as he admitted he wasn't a fan of drama. 

Farmer Bert ended up walking off the show, citing that drama tactics from showrunners didn't sit well with him. 

While there were rumours that he was dating another contestant, Lauren McNeil, she confirmed that the pair are not an item. 

In the reunion episode, however, Bert revealed that he's formed a close relationship with tackle shop owner and former flame, Caitlin.

"Who knows what the future holds, you know, my heart's open and I do believe in the right time, right place and right person," he said, adding there's a "chance" of them rekindling things. 

Asked if he thought love works in mysterious ways he said, "Sure does."

A 26-year-old cattle and crop farmer from Condobolin, NSW, Farmer Dustin came on the show hoping to find a wife and start a family before he hits 30.

After the speed dating round, five women caught his eye: Izzy, Sophie, Anna, Kara and Chloe, however, he soon bid farewell to Kara and Chloe.

Farmer Dustin ended up with Sophie Trethowan, and the two ended their journey on the show with beaming smiles.

However, when she went back to the farm after filming, Sophie was taken aback by Dustin's living conditions.

Turns out, Dustin's house needs a lot of TLC to make it... well... liveable. His lack of any interior design flair caused a bit of a rift between the lovebirds. 

"We had a few days together and then we went our separate ways," said Dustin, adding that she definitely 'put the brakes on'. "Sophie's not over impressed by it."

Sophie then shared her side of the story, describing his place as a "boy's house". "I don't know if it would pass a health and safety inspection," she said.

But despite the mess of the fixer-upper home, the pair are still going strong.

"Sam, I think this farmer has found a wife," he said. 

"Very happy and still in love, and excited to see what the future holds," added Sophie. Aww.

At 33, Bombala-based cattle and sheep farmer Joe was looking for someone who "knows what she wants".

Farmer Joe invited Chelsea, Keely, Sarah, Claire and Cayla to his farm, but in the end, he chose Sarah. 

Rumours have long plagued farmer Joe and Sarah's relationship, with sources claiming they called it quits after filming wrapped. Well, good news — they're still together! But they did admit to "butting heads" upon returning to the farm. 

"Instead of a high, it was like a sugar crash," he told his fellow castmates. 

"I can be very headstrong and very stubborn," he added. "I like to do things on my terms...that comes with me being single for three and a half years now."

Luckily, they're still "hanging in there". 

"Sarah's just shown time and time again the person she is deep down and it just reflects exactly what I've been looking for," Joe said. 

Sarah also revealed that she's planning on moving to the farm soon.

Towards the end of the show, it seemed as if Farmer Tom had found everlasting love with Sarah.

"You are the person that I do want a relationship [with] and I am falling in love with you," he told her when filming wrapped.

"I love being on the farm with Tom, it feels like home already," Sarah said at the reunion. "I feel really comfortable here and really sure that I want my future to be here."

However, in an unexpected turn of events, the two have decided to go their separate ways with Sarah sharing the news on Instagram just days after the reunion aired.

In the post, Sarah opened up about her time on the show, saying it was an unexpected journey for both herself and the people around her.

"My decision to go on a dating show came as a big surprise to a lot of my family and friends, and was a significant commitment of time away from my normal life," she wrote. 

"It was pretty scary putting myself out there like that."

Sadly, she did not get the happily ever after that she was hoping for.

"Unfortunately, that lifelong love that I was seeking with Tom did not turn out the way that I had hoped it would, but it’s definitely a relief now to put that truth out there that Tom and I are no longer together," she said.

"Relationships don’t always work and people are not always who you think they are."

Farmer Tom is yet to make a statement regarding the breakup.

Despite being a late addition to the show, Farmer Todd has found his lucky lady. 

His friends may not have liked her all too much, but that didn't seem to bother him. Daisy Lamb has captured this Aussie farmer's heart and the pair are still going strong. 

After the show wrapped up, the pair went back and forth from the farm near Narrabri, NSW to Daisy's home in Townsville, Qld., moving her belongings. 

"Once I was back here after final decision it made sense that this is where I wanted to be and where I needed to be," she said. "We're still in our love bubble."

Despite a few "silly little fights" about what to eat or which restaurant to choose, the pair have been happy with their choice.

"It was a huge decision but a good decision. I think we both just came to terms with that we didn't want to do long distance," Daisy said.

In the reunion episode, the couple revealed that they're already thinking about marriage and children, with Daisy saying: "I’ll give him his family but he’s gotta give me a nice big rock."

Most recently, Daisy posted a video of the two of them canoodling on her Instagram, subtly shading those who didn't think they would last.

"This next chapter is called: WE deserve this. Life hasn’t always been easy for either of us and we’ve made some mistakes, but we ended up together for a reason," she said.

"We are learning how to love correctly and appreciate things we never got in the past. So when you see us be happy, let us be happy. We deserve this."
